Conversion and rationale
Original sweetener (classic version): 100 g white sugar
Conversion used: Use 120 ml maple syrup for 100 g sugar and reduce the water by about 80 ml; dissolve the syrup in the warm tea before chilling.
Why Quebec maple syrup: Maple adds a mellow toasted note that bridges bitter tea and bright lemon. It turns the familiar iced tea-lemonade blend into a natural Québec pantry variation.
General rule: 1 cup (250 ml) sugar ≈ 3/4 cup (180 ml) maple syrup; reduce liquids by 45–60 ml per cup of syrup and lower oven by 15 °C. Substitution calculator →
