Conversion and rationale
Original sweetener (classic version): 3/4 cup granulated sugar
Conversion used: Use 2/3 cup maple syrup, bake at -15°C of original recipe to prevent burning the natural sugars.
Why Quebec maple syrup: The floral notes of maple syrup perfectly complement the acidity of wild Quebec blueberries.
General rule: 1 cup (250 ml) sugar ≈ 3/4 cup (180 ml) maple syrup; reduce liquids by 45–60 ml per cup of syrup and lower oven by 15 °C. Substitution calculator →
